Principle Software Engineer – Embedded Systems

What you will do

• Design, develop, review, test, and maintain embedded software and firmware for connected electrical products.
• Develop low-level drivers and integrate software with hardware, sensors, microcontrollers, and peripherals.
• Implement and optimize communication protocols including Ethernet, Modbus, and wireless technologies.
• Debug software and hardware issues using JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other techniques.
• Optimize code and algorithms for memory efficiency, processing performance, reliability, and response times.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, quality assurance, product management, and solution architecture teams while contributing to design reviews and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 15+ years of embedded firmware or software development experience with Embedded C, C++, RTOS, or Linux-based systems.
• Experience with multi-threading, coding standards, microcontrollers, and peripheral integration.
• Experience working with engineering teams using Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Experience with Git or Subversion, Jira, static analysis, and embedded testing and debugging tools.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of HTTPS, SNMP, SMTP, BACnet, or Modbus/TCP communication protocols.
