TL;DR
Embedded Software Engineer – Aftermarket (Avionics) (C++/Python): Designing, developing, and verifying embedded software for ground support and avionics systems with an accent on requirements implementation, hardware/software integration, and regulated aerospace practices. Focus on debugging system issues, developing verification evidence, decoding avionics data, and supporting end-to-end system functionality.
Location: On-site in Bengaluru, India

designs, engineers, and manufactures certified avionics systems and provides aftermarket software, product support, lifecycle sustainment, and operational enhancements for commercial and military aviation.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain software for avionics and ground support systems.
- Translate system and software requirements into working embedded software implementations.
- Support hardware and system-level integration, debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Develop design documentation, verification evidence, and software tests.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams on end-to-end functionality.
- Participate in design reviews, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in software development, coding, verification, avionics, or aerospace and defense applications.
- Experience developing software in embedded or systems-based environments.
- Experience with software requirements, design documentation, testing, verification, or validation.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Ability to use and promote automation and AI tools to improve speed, quality, and operational efficiency.
Nice to have
- Experience with C++, Python, Visual Basic, and Qt Creator.
- Familiarity with ARINC 429, ARINC 717, ARINC 664, DO-178, or similar regulated development standards.
- Experience with data decoding, parameter mapping, engineering unit conversion, and hardware/software integration.
- Background in avionics, aerospace, aviation, ground support, maintenance, or aftermarket software environments.
