Compliance Analyst, APAC (Asset Management)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid schedule with office work 4 days per week and remote work 1 day per week

What you will do

• Support regulatory risk assessments, compliance testing and monitoring, and third-party internal control reviews.
• Advise client-facing and marketing teams on sales and marketing compliance and review marketing materials.
• Provide day-to-day compliance guidance to business functions and resolve compliance issues.
• Draft and update local policies and procedures in line with Japanese requirements and global controls.
• Design and deliver training covering additional local regulatory requirements.
• Complete regular and ad hoc regulatory filings and surveys, including FSA, IMAJ, and T2FIFA submissions.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in the financial industry, including at least 5 years in compliance.
• Good English language skills.
• Strong ethics, professional judgment, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Tokyo Compliance Officer and APAC Compliance team.
• Technology awareness and ability to adopt emerging technologies, including AI and automation.

Nice to have

• Experience in the asset management business.
• ITM experience.
• JSDA internal control manager qualification.
• Creative problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.
