DevOps Tech Lead Manager (Fintech)

What you will do

• Manage and grow a squad of 4–8 DevOps engineers across E1–E3 levels, including hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, performance reviews, and career coaching.
• Own squad delivery commitments, infrastructure quality, predictable velocity, and the on-call rotation.
• Stay hands-on for 40–60% of the role with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and cloud cost optimization.
• Own squad-level incidents and post-mortems, remove process and technical-debt blockers, and escalate risks proactively.
• Connect infrastructure work to business OKRs/KPIs and represent the squad in planning and cross-team discussions.
• Balance delivery speed with regulatory constraints and promote psychological safety, ownership, and clear communication.

Requirements

• 3+ years of DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience with production ownership.
• Experience formally or informally leading engineers, including hiring, mentoring, delivery ownership, or incident response.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code expertise with Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD and modern delivery practices, plus hands-on AWS experience with Fargate, ECS, EC2, RDS/Postgres, ElastiCache, Lambda, SQS, and Kinesis.
• Experience with observability, including metrics, logs, traces, and alerting; Datadog is preferred. Scripting with Python, Bash, or Node.js/TypeScript is also required.
• Strong communication in Spanish is required, with working English for vendor and partner interactions. Cloud security, secret management, and compliance knowledge are expected.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GCP services such as BigQuery and Pub/Sub.
• Experience with MongoDB Atlas or other managed data stores.
• Exposure to fintech, payments, or regulated environments, including CNBV, SOC 2, or PCI.
• Experience improving on-call and incident response processes.
• Knowledge of DORA metrics and prior formal people-management experience.
