Senior Staff Security Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Bellevue, WA; Menlo Park, CA, with compensation zones also covering New York, Washington, Denver, Westlake, Chicago, Lake Mary, Clearwater, and Gainesville in the United States.

Base pay: $247,000–$290,000 USD annually, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define technical strategy and architectural direction across Infrastructure Security, Cloud Security, Cryptography, IAM, AI Security, and Detection & Response.
• Establish security foundations for emerging AI technologies, agentic use cases, internal automation, and production AI applications.
• Identify high-impact problems and drive cross-cutting initiatives from concept through production.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain production security systems, including prototypes and shipped code.
• Partner with engineering managers and senior technical leaders on priorities, trade-offs, and roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and provide hands-on architectural guidance while staying close to production environments.

Requirements

• Technical leadership experience at organizational scale, including setting direction and influencing large engineering groups without formal authority.
• Deep expertise in Identity and Access Management and/or Cryptography, with broad knowledge of cloud, infrastructure, platform, and detection security.
• Strong software or security engineering background with hands-on experience building and operating production systems.
• Ability to independently identify ambiguous technical problems and create actionable roadmaps.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, humility, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience securing AI infrastructure, LLM integrations, or agentic automation frameworks.
