Lead Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Boston or NYC, United States; hybrid workplace

Salary: $225,000–$260,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end architecture and roadmap for a core product area, from data models to user interfaces.
• Partner with product and design to deliver customer-facing web experiences.
• Design systems that surface insights from massive datasets, including real-time search across billions of log entries and automated detection of common user paths.
• Drive AI and machine learning adoption through bug-detection pipelines and full-stack AI-powered recommendations.
• Set technical direction for cost-effective, reliable infrastructure that operates under heavy load.
• Mentor engineers, review architecture decisions, and raise team-wide engineering standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer, with production frontend experience using React or a similar framework and backend systems expertise.
• Experience leading technical direction for a team or product area.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
• Deep experience with distributed systems and modern cloud architecture.
• Strong collaboration skills, hands-on delivery experience, and a track record of mentoring engineers.
