Junior Telemetry Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Install, configure, assemble, verify, operate, and maintain fixed and mobile telemetry systems.
• Receive, decode, record, relay, process, and display telemetry data from airborne, space, and ground platforms.
• Configure mission-specific telemetry ground systems and support multiple simultaneous telemetry downlinks.
• Monitor and troubleshoot receivers, amplifiers, synchronizers, telemetry processors, recording systems, and data communications interfaces.
• Support mission rehearsals, real-time operations, post-mission activities, and telemetry data distribution.
• Document system configurations, operational status, anomalies, and maintenance actions while following safety, security, and mission assurance requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience supporting telemetry, RF, avionics, electronics, or instrumentation systems.
• Working knowledge of telemetry systems, RF signal flow, data acquisition, and basic networking.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and standard operating procedures and assist with troubleshooting.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required government access credentials and badging.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and mission-driven schedules at Wallops Range.

Nice to have

• Associate degree, technical certification, or formal training in electronics, avionics, RF systems, telemetry, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in a test range, aerospace, or government contracting environment.
