Biologics Formulation Scientist (Temporary) (Biologics)

Location: Onsite in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA; candidates must live within commuting distance. Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

Salary: USD 32–36 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Develop and execute protein developability and stability workflows, including high-concentration formulation, viscometry, size exclusion chromatography, and thermal and colloidal stability assays.
• Operate automated high-throughput systems and support ongoing studies independently.
• Evaluate workflows using scientific judgment and critical thinking, communicating risks, observations, and process improvements.
• Analyze data and report results to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in a method-development environment.
• Support Antibody-Drug Conjugate projects involving OEB4/OEB5 materials and other OEB4 substances when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on industry or research laboratory experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions.
• Experience with protein handling, buffer preparation, high-concentration antibody formulation via UFDF or TFF, and assay execution.
• Hands-on experience with analytical platforms such as SEC, HPLC, viscometry, rheology, DLS, DSC, or DSF.
• Knowledge of protein chemistry and degradation, plus strong troubleshooting, communication, time-management, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in method development or a non-GMP development environment.
• Exposure to automation or high-throughput workflows.
