Contract Senior Software Engineer (React Native)

Location: Atlanta, GA, United States; People Before Place Hybrid model. Minimal travel is associated with the role.

Minimum base compensation: $85 per hour.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable React Native components and screen flows for iOS and Android from a shared codebase.
• Establish front-end architecture, state management patterns, navigation structures, and shared component libraries.
• Build and maintain RESTful API and BFF integrations with error handling, caching, and offline-resilient patterns.
• Define code quality standards, testing strategies, and reliable CI/CD pipelines for mobile builds.
• Optimize rendering, memory management, startup time, and overall mobile application performance.
• Lead projects, advise stakeholders, represent the team in client conversations, and mentor junior and intermediate colleagues.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of development experience with an emphasis on React Native.
• Strong React Native and React ecosystem experience, including hooks, context, and component lifecycle.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, mobile state management, navigation libraries, Git, and automated testing.
• Working knowledge of iOS and Android fundamentals, including Swift/Objective-C and Kotlin/Java, sufficient to debug bridge issues and write native modules.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD, app signing, device testing, app distribution, deep linking, universal links, app store submissions, and over-the-air updates.
• Degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, or equivalent experience; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Expo, EAS, TanStack Query, feature flagging, analytics SDKs, GraphQL, BFF patterns, or shared design systems.
