What you will do

• Present news stories and other content across broadcast, web, social media, and additional platforms.
• Write, research, copy edit, and deliver clear and concise news stories.
• Produce newscasts, communicate direction to team members, and help coordinate news programming.
• Report from the field, conduct interviews, and respond to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations.
• Participate in promotional activities, public appearances, special projects, and assigned video editing.
• Interact with viewers and users through social media platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• At least two years of experience in news reporting or anchoring; the required amount may vary by market size.
• Superior on-air presence and excellent news judgment, with broad knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers, and issues.
• Experience guiding, directing, and motivating others, including identifying development needs and coaching or mentoring colleagues.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, manage multiple tasks, listen effectively, and collaborate with a team to develop solutions.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
