Sr. Designer, Digital Concept Design - HOKA (3D/AI)

Location: Portland, Oregon — Hybrid

Salary: $96,600–$130,400 per year for the Portland location.

What you will do

• Lead HOKA’s digital design enablement roadmap, integrating 3D design, AI visualization, and prototyping tools into footwear design.
• Build and scale custom digital workflows and generative design systems that improve creative development and efficiency.
• Partner with product designers to ideate 3D footwear forms and assets, including upper builds, renders, models, and generative assets.
• Define digital workflow handoffs from design to factory teams with Product, Development, and Engineering.
• Support designers in using digital tools throughout the product creation cycle and contribute to seasonal creative direction.
• Travel for design inspiration, market research, trade shows, and factory collaboration as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial design, product design, interaction design, or a related field.
• 7+ years of 3D design experience focused on footwear.
• 1–2 years of experience mentoring or training new team members.
• Expertise in 2D design and 3D NURBS and polygon design and rendering tools, including Rhino, Modo, Blender, ZBrush, Grasshopper, Gravity Sketch, Unreal, KeyShot, Substance Painter, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience leading generative AI platforms such as Midjourney and Vizcom, and developing AI-assisted ideation, visualization, and prototyping workflows.
• Deep knowledge of performance footwear, upper and tooling design, mold design, manufacturing techniques, rapid prototyping, simulation, and digital-to-physical pipelines.
