VP, Global Patient Safety Sciences, General Medicine

Location: Tarrytown, New York. Requires 4+ days per week onsite.

What you will do

• Lead General Medicine safety strategy across clinical programs and postmarketing assets.
• Provide medical review and escalation support for complex Individual Case Safety Reports and causality assessments.
• Oversee safety signal evaluations, benefit-risk assessments, Risk Management Plans, and responses to health authority queries.
• Represent Global Patient Safety Sciences in safety oversight, data monitoring, strategic program, and external collaboration forums.
• Influence crossfunctional decisions and advise senior leadership on safety strategies and processes.
• Build, coach, and scale a high-performing team while leading succession planning and leadership development.

Requirements

• 15+ years of pharmacovigilance or relevant clinical experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• 8+ years of people leadership experience with a record of successfully leading teams.
• Experience overseeing safety strategy within a global patient safety organization.
• Strong understanding of product safety profiles, safety assessments, risk evaluations, and decision-making.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with advanced organizational and workload planning abilities.
• Master’s degree or MBA required; an M.D., PA, PharmD, board certification, or equivalent clinical qualification is preferred.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of international pharmaceutical experience.
• Experience in a matrixed organization.
• Experience applying AI technologies to safety science.
