is hiring for a government affairs leadership role supporting its business operations and stakeholder relationships in China.
What you will do
- Build and maintain relationships with central, provincial, and local government officials, particularly in Shanghai and Guangdong.
- Monitor geopolitical risks and policy developments, providing strategic guidance to executive leadership.
- Lead advocacy on trade, nutrition, labeling, product claims, packaging, and environmental regulations.
- Secure government incentives, subsidies, approvals, licenses, and permits for manufacturing, EHS, import/export, logistics, retail, transformation, and M&A activities.
- Manage stakeholder mapping, government engagement, investigations, enforcement risks, product-related complaints, and intellectual property protection.
- Represent the company in government events, industry associations, and public forums while leading internal and external stakeholder coordination.
Requirements
- Experience managing government affairs, regulatory advocacy, and public-sector stakeholder relationships in China.
- Ability to analyze geopolitical, legal, regulatory, and enforcement risks affecting business operations.
- Experience securing government approvals, licenses, permits, incentives, or subsidies.
- Ability to collaborate with legal, communications, operations, supply chain, and other internal functions.
- Leadership experience managing a government affairs team and external advisors.
