Threat Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the USA

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year, plus bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

Cybersecurity company building an AI-native platform that protects organizations by detecting and preventing breaches at large scale.

What you will do

• Analyze malware, binary files, customer detection reports, and machine-learning detection data.
• Investigate customer detection tickets and determine how detection models can be improved.
• Manage and reduce false-positive detections.
• Review product detections against company standards and assess detection efficacy.
• Address internal questions about potentially malicious activity and collaborate with Technical Account Managers, Falcon Complete, Data Scientists, and the Malware Research Center.

Requirements

• Experience with malware reverse engineering or malware operations.
• Understanding of malware types, binary attributes such as imports, exports, and packers, and various operating systems.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting, particularly Python.
• Practical research, collection, analytical, threat-management, and risk-assessment skills.
• Ability to break complex problems into workable components.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Security operations center or incident-response experience.
• Knowledge of Windows internals, Windows API, macOS, Linux, intrusion tools, exploit and vulnerability analysis.
• Knowledge of C, C++, Java, assembly, or machine-learning-based threat detections.
