Senior Systems Engineer (Defence): Defining and managing requirements for guided-missile destroyer combat-system upgrades with an accent on requirements analysis, traceability, specifications, and systems integration. Location: Adelaide or Melbourne, Australia; hybrid work from home and office is considered, with a 9-day fortnight option.

What you will do
- Define requirements for complex Destroyer Capability Enhancement upgrade packages, including elicitation, analysis, wording, and traceability.
- Review requirements for quality, correctness, and associated impacts.
- Establish and manage specifications for the DDG Combat System Functional and Allocated Baselines.
- Deliver requirements documentation, including CS Specifications and Requirements Traceability Matrices.
- Prepare and support Requirements Working Groups and Mandated System Reviews.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, workshops, strategic requirements changes, and process improvements while developing junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 8 years of systems engineering experience, including complex, military, and software-intensive systems.
- Extensive experience with the systems engineering lifecycle, requirements definition and analysis, testing, and integration.
- Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, or Cradle, plus strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Significant experience with combat-system requirements in a maritime or equivalent context and integration, test, and evaluation of complex military systems.
- Australian citizenship is required, along with an Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1 level or the ability to obtain one.
