Software Engineer, iOS - Securing Engineering, USDS (Cybersecurity)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

What you will do

• Design and implement the AppGuard security framework for iOS and macOS.
• Build capabilities to monitor and cut off application ingress and egress traffic using dynamic rules and sampling.
• Develop high-performance engines for real-time execution of DSL-based security logic.
• Create platforms and tools for sandbox component integration, testing, validation, and profiling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver security solutions without compromising user experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of mobile and desktop application development experience for Apple platforms.
• Expertise in Objective-C and Swift, with strong knowledge of Darwin-based frameworks and system-level tools.
• Experience optimizing memory usage, network performance, and battery efficiency.
• Ability to work fully in person in San Jose, up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Network Extensions or system-level traffic filtering.
• Ability to contribute to architectural design and translate security goals into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled development tools such as Cursor or Replit.
