Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)

Location: Amesbury, Massachusetts, United States; regular attendance on company premises is required. The position is restricted to U.S. citizens and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.

Salary: $85,400–$146,400 per year.

What you will do

• Lead continuous improvement projects across product lines and supporting departments to improve efficiency, quality, waste reduction, and workplace safety.
• Specify, source, qualify, and implement new tooling and equipment while managing budgets and establishing new work cells.
• Support costing and quoting for new business, assessing customer requirements, safety, material selection, and manufacturability risks.
• Provide technical guidance and training to engineers and drive projects toward cost, throughput, safety, and quality targets.
• Work with customers and stakeholders to resolve product quality issues and assess manufacturing capabilities for new requirements.
• Research emerging technologies in design, manufacturing, automation, machine technologies, and CAD/CAM software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in plastics, chemical, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, chemistry, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with manufacturing technologies and materials such as polymer processing, thermoplastic extrusion, thermoforming, injection or compression molding, composites manufacturing, CNC machining, web coating, and HVLP coating.
• Proven project management and implementation experience, including Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and CAD/CAM software; ability to create and interpret blueprints and apply GD&T and industry standards.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance are required.
