Sr Design Engineer (Network)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States; office attendance required at least four days per week, with one day of work-from-home flexibility.

Salary: $125,000–$158,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation.

What you will do

• Design, architect, manage, and deploy routing and switching solutions across campus and data center networks.
• Lead network changes and updates in accordance with corporate security policies and business requirements.
• Monitor network performance and security, troubleshoot network issues, and support incident and outage escalation.
• Develop capacity-planning solutions that scale with business growth and introduce automation for routine administrative tasks.
• Diagnose problems, resolve incidents, and provide lifecycle support for network deployments and upgrades.
• Provide technical leadership to network engineering staff, vendors, and contractors while collaborating across IT disciplines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 7–10 years of network design and engineering experience.
• Strong analytical, customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate technical information across organizational levels and mentor experienced network engineering staff.
• Must have valid United States work authorization and must not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Palo Alto or Cisco ASA firewalls and F5 BIG-IP technologies, including LTM, GTM, and ASM.
• DDI, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NTP, Infoblox, or Cloudflare.
• DDoS protection with Akamai, AWS, Azure, or Cloudflare.
• AWS or Azure cloud networking, automation and scripting, routing and switching.
• Network monitoring, NetFlow, capacity management, packet capture, Gigastor, or Wireshark.
