Junior Technical Writer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain compliance artifacts, including System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, and Plans of Action and Milestones.
• Support NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP Moderate/High baselines, ICD 503, ATO lifecycle documentation, and audit readiness.
• Create developer-facing API references, integration guides, SDK documentation, data dictionaries, metadata documentation, database schemas, and data governance materials.
• Document standard operating procedures, change enablement processes, incident response runbooks, and ITIL-aligned practices with subject matter experts.
• Establish documentation standards, templates, version control, lifecycle management, structured authoring, and content reuse strategies.
• Coordinate documentation across engineering, security, compliance, product, and program teams, including support for CI/CD documentation automation and FedRAMP audits.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Technical Writing, English, IT, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of technical writing experience in IT or cybersecurity environments.
• Ability to document complex systems and architectures, including APIs and data models.
• Experience with Confluence, SharePoint, Markdown, DITA, Swagger/OpenAPI, Git, Visio, Lucidchart, Jira, and Azure DevOps.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST RMF, and ICD 503.
• Experience with DevSecOps environments.
• Knowledge of structured authoring frameworks such as DITA.
