TL;DR
Senior Manager - UX Research (Financial Services/UX Research): Leading end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research for digital products and experiences with an accent on usability, user-centered design, and research operations. Focus on managing and mentoring UX researchers, translating findings into strategic product decisions, and guiding journey maps, service blueprints, user flows, and information architecture.

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States; employees work in the office at least four days per week, with flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Base salary: $122,400–$168,300 per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

  • Manage the UX Research team, including capacity planning, operations, knowledge sharing, cross-training, and mentoring.
  • Lead end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research projects across mobile and desktop digital products.
  • Scope, plan, recruit, execute, analyze, and present research findings to cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Identify strategic research opportunities and improve research operations and team value across the organization.
  • Advocate for usability and end users by informing design concepts, discovery roadmaps, measurement strategies, and product prioritization.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX Design, UX Content, UX Strategy, and Technology partners on journey maps, jobs-to-be-done analyses, service blueprints, user flows, and information architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience with complex websites and software applications from a user-centered perspective.
  • Experience leading or mentoring UX professionals and conducting end-to-end qualitative or quantitative research.
  • Proficiency in user-centered design, usability best practices, web and app design, and survey design, including sampling and bias reduction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting research findings through storytelling.
  • Experience with research and data analysis tools such as Qualtrics, UserTesting, Glassbox, or Adobe Target.
  • Must have valid United States work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree and experience with design sprints, co-creation, behavioral design, service design, and research.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, PowerPoint, Excel, or similar visualization and presentation tools.
  • Statistical analysis experience, including hypothesis testing, t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square, correlation, and regression.
  • Knowledge of design fundamentals, project and business process management, agile processes, and secondary or competitive research.
  • UX experience in financial services, fintech, or financial firm-to-client service models.
