TL;DR
Staff Data Engineer (Snowflake): Building and scaling resilient batch and real-time data pipelines from 30+ sources with an accent on Python-based ETL, data modeling, and data quality. What you will do
- Lead high-impact data platform initiatives supporting historical analytics data and real-time business functions.
- Design, build, and scale resilient pipelines that acquire, transform, and publish data from more than 30 sources.
- Extend the custom ETL platform using object-oriented design, clean code, event-driven flows, and idempotent, atomic processing.
- Establish SDLC, version control, CI/CD, automated testing, code review, documentation, reliability, and observability standards.
- Lead data modeling, data-quality automation, pipeline performance, infrastructure health, mentorship, and technical strategy.
- Protect sensitive data through encryption, access controls, secure coding, dependency patching, and incident-response procedures.
Requirements
- 4-year degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15+ years of relevant experience, including technical leadership of data engineering teams or major data engineering projects.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required.
- Strong expertise in database technologies, especially Snowflake and Postgres, as well as SQL and Python.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT, Python-based object-oriented ETL solutions, and varied data sources and targets.
- Experience with AWS or another cloud service provider, DevOps workflows, Linux, data governance, privacy regulations, CI/CD, and automated testing.
Nice to have
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Professional certifications.
- Experience using AI tooling to improve development speed and reduce toil while maintaining quality.
