IP Litigation Paralegal

Location: Dallas, United States; travel is required as needed, including for out-of-state cases and International Trade Commission matters.

Annual compensation: $105,000–$132,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.

What you will do

• Support attorneys and paralegal staff throughout IP litigation from case initiation through trial.
• Manage case deadlines, dockets, documents, filings, discovery, productions, charts, and indices.
• Assist with invalidity and infringement contentions, claim construction briefing, and Markman hearing preparation.
• Prepare for depositions, meetings, interviews, trials, and arbitrations, including related travel.
• Coordinate with external vendors and complete day-to-day case management and timekeeping tasks.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior paralegals and legal assistants as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant paralegal experience preferred, with the ability to support complex litigation from beginning to end.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and substantive paralegal experience; applicable state certifications or qualifications may be required.
• Understanding of litigation practices, procedures, regulations, and workflows, with strong organization, communication, analytical, and reasoning skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and iManage.
• Experience with eDiscovery databases such as Relativity, Opus 2, and CaseMap, plus USPTO Patent Center and patent terminology.
• Experience with PTAB, ITC, and Federal Circuit litigation; availability to travel and work overtime as necessary.

• Experience with Hatch-Waxman IP litigation and life sciences IP litigation.
