Software Engineer (Semiconductor Automation)

Location: Torino, Italy; work arrangements may include a mix of in-office and remote work depending on the role and business needs.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software modules, subsystems, and applications.
• Deliver software that meets usability, performance, reliability, quality, and timeline requirements.
• Analyze requirements and system specifications and contribute to software architecture.
• Provide in-house and in-field debugging and troubleshooting support.
• Collaborate with system engineering, internal teams, external vendors, consultants, and software resources to integrate hardware, electronics, and software.
• Improve development processes, adopt relevant technologies, and contribute to technology roadmaps.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science or engineering.
• 4+ years of software development experience, including complex modules, subsystems, or applications.
• Experience with Linux, shell scripting, containers, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, and JavaScript, plus software development frameworks.
• Experience with networked inter-module communication, secure and reliable coding, unit testing, and automated software quality checks.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills across the full software development lifecycle.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated environments using IEC 62304 or ISO 13485.
• Experience with LIMS/LIS, middleware, laboratory automation, diagnostic devices, ASTM, or HL7 protocols.
• UI/frontend development experience for healthcare professional devices.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases or event-driven programming.
• Exposure to data analytics and machine learning.
