Threat Analyst, Machine Learning Operations & Detection Efficacy (Remote)

Location: USA - Remote

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses and equity grants.

What you will do

• Analyze malware, binary files, detection data, and customer reports to identify improvements for machine learning models.
• Investigate individual customer detection tickets and address internal questions about potentially malicious activity.
• Support the management and reduction of false positive detections.
• Review product detections to verify that they meet company standards.
• Provide detection efficacy insights to Data Science and collaborate with Technical Account Managers, Falcon Complete, Data Scientists, and the Malware Research Center.

Requirements

• Understanding of malware types and functionality, with experience in malware reverse engineering or malware operations.
• Programming and scripting knowledge, particularly Python.
• Fundamental knowledge of binary file attributes, including imports, exports, and packers.
• Research, collection, analytical, threat management, and risk assessment skills.
• Familiarity with multiple operating systems and the ability to break down complex problems into workable components.
• Practical experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Security operations center or incident response experience.
• Knowledge of Windows internals, the Windows API, macOS, Linux, intrusion tools, exploit and vulnerability analysis, or machine learning threat detections.
• Knowledge of C, C++, Java, assembly, or other programming languages.
