Financial Advisor Intern (Wealth Management)

Location: Offices in Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, and Massachusetts; principally in-person with flexibility to determine the optimal working environment with a supervisor and team. Some local, national, and occasional international travel may be required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, except qualified candidates bilingual in Japanese and English or Chinese and English.

Salary: $33.00–$36.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Assess client assets, liabilities, cash flow, tax status, and financial objectives.
• Develop investment and financial planning recommendations for individuals and families.
• Evaluate financial plans using investment and tax strategies and knowledge of financial securities.
• Perform quality control procedures on account activity, trades, money movements, and client distributions.
• Use technology to prepare reports, charts, and graphs illustrating client-specific recommendations.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, economics, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong interest in investments and economics, with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a detail-oriented approach.
• On track to complete the degree and either the coursework required to sit for the CFP exam or a CFP Board Registered Program, with the goal of obtaining CFP certification.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, unless qualifying as bilingual in Japanese and English or Chinese and English.

Nice to have

• Experience at a brokerage, financial planning firm, financial planning practice, or money management firm.
