Primary Care Paramedic

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada; onsite emergency medical services role

Salary: CAD 30.74–38.79 per hour under the MHSW Central Alberta Collective Agreement

What you will do

• Provide immediate treatment, stabilization, and transportation for sick and injured patients.
• Safely operate emergency vehicles and keep vehicles stocked and ready for response.
• Work with outside agencies and respond to hazardous environments, including patient extrication.
• Complete patient assessments, electronic patient care reports, and incident documentation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, follow operational and medical control guidelines, and participate in quality assurance.
• Support community education programs and uphold professional, hygienic, and respectful conduct.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Alberta operator’s licence, Class 1, 2, or 4.
• Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
• Completion of Alberta Health Services MCPs.
• Current CPR certification and a required FARE Certificate.
• Good physical health and the ability to lift and move heavy patients and work in hazardous environments.
