TL;DR
MRI Technologist Aide (MRI): Supporting MRI technologists with patient onboarding, MR safety screening, mobility assistance, emergency procedures, room turnaround, and clinic workflow at an onsite North Vancouver clinic with additional Vancouver shift coverage. with an accent on MR Zone access control, ferromagnetic preparation, infection control, and patient safety. Focus on assisting with safety escalation, preparing patients and equipment, coordinating appointment flow, and maintaining clinical areas between scans.

Location: Fully onsite at the North Vancouver clinic; candidates should live within 45 minutes of North Vancouver and may need to cover shifts at the Vancouver site at 39 Nelson St. Primary clinic: 123 13th Street E, North Vancouver. Flexible availability is required for weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.

Salary: CAD $25–$28 per hour, depending on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

  • Control access to restricted MR Zones and escalate all positive MRI safety screening responses to the MRI technologist.
  • Help patients complete safety questionnaires, medical intake forms, and consent documents, while verifying identity and explaining the MRI procedure.
  • Assist with safe patient transfers, ferromagnetic preparation, emergency procedures, discharge, and personal belongings.
  • Prepare MRI rooms between patients, including linens, coils, positioning pads, ear protection, and MR-safe equipment.
  • Support infection control by cleaning and disinfecting patient-contact surfaces and MRI equipment.
  • Monitor schedules, coordinate with patient liaison staff, restock supplies, communicate delays, scan records, prepare imaging CDs, and process records requests.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare or a related field.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment and respond sensitively to patient concerns.
  • Punctual, dependable, self-directed, and committed to high standards of medical and customer care.
  • Collaborative and professional communication with patients and clinical colleagues.
  • Applicants must already be legally authorized to work in Canada and must not require current or future employer visa sponsorship.
