Optical Network Engineer, Border Network Engineering

Location: Dublin, Ireland; onsite role

What you will do

• Design and deploy optical network solutions for data center connectivity and scalable AWS infrastructure.
• Work with vendors and manufacturers to evaluate optical hardware and software capabilities and create network integration plans.
• Develop and automate optical testing procedures to qualify modules against performance and reliability standards.
• Partner with network operations teams to troubleshoot issues and improve quality and return merchandise authorization processes.
• Create and maintain documentation covering network designs, test results, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
• 4+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Experience with optical networking systems, network architecture, troubleshooting, and data center connectivity.
• Ability to collaborate with hardware, software, vendor, manufacturing, and network operations teams.

Nice to have

• 1+ year of automation scripting experience with Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
