TL;DR

Reinsurance Contracts Expert (Reinsurance): Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating property and casualty reinsurance contracts across Asia Pacific with an accent on contract certainty, regulatory alignment, and stakeholder advisory. Focus on assessing portfolio contract risks, developing contract management and wording analytics systems, and maintaining governance standards across global projects.

What you will do

Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize reinsurance contracts, binders, slips, endorsements, and related documentation.
Advise underwriters, client managers, brokers, external clients, and other stakeholders on contract interpretation and wording implications.
Ensure contract wordings align with business intent, corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.
Conduct portfolio analysis and identify contract-related risks and trends.
Support contract management tools, wording analytics, governance standards, policies, and analytical systems.
Deliver contract-related training and participate in global projects across APAC, EMEA, and the Americas.

Requirements

Degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Law, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in the reinsurance or insurance industry, including claims, underwriting, coverage counsel, legal, or product development.
Strong understanding of property and casualty reinsurance products, coverage, policy wordings, and business processes.
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial and reinsurance agreements.
Knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and market practices, with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work independently in multicultural environments.

Nice to have

Professional insurance qualification such as ACII or equivalent.
Legal qualification or background in Common Law or English Law.
Client-facing experience.
