Senior Software Engineer (Machine Learning)

Location: Seattle, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $177,688–$341,734 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build scalable machine learning systems and models for TikTok Shop Ads.
• Improve ad ranking quality and optimize advertiser marketing strategies through click-through rate and conversion rate prediction.
• Develop intelligent format selection and user journey optimization solutions.
• Explore and experiment with new features to improve model accuracy.
• Use machine learning to improve ad relevance, quality, and delivery volume.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other disciplines on next-generation shopping experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with big data processing and storage frameworks such as Hadoop, Flink, Spark, Kafka, Hive, HBase, Redis, or RocksDB.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including coding, algorithms, data structures, software design, and problem-solving.
• Clear critical thinking, effective communication, ownership, and initiative.
• Ability to work on-site in Seattle, with in-person attendance up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in the advertising domain.
• Strong programming expertise in C++ or Go, including debugging and performance optimization.
• Experience with large-scale advertising infrastructure or high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Business and data intuition, project execution, abstraction, and innovation skills.
