Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Location: This role will be based out our Prague office.

Overview

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will join a global team dedicated to supporting the production environment within Electronic Trading, Markets area. You will participate in ensuring the smooth running of production systems, providing a high level of service to business users, while also applying software engineering principles to eliminate repeated manual effort and create automated, scalable, and reliable services.

What you will do

• Provide technical support for service management, resolving complex issues and improving service to customers and stakeholders.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software, utilizing monitoring tools/metrics to identify, prevent, and address potential issues for optimal performance.
• Analyze system logs, error messages, and user reports to identify root causes of hardware, software, and network issues, providing resolutions by fixing or replacing faulty components, reinstalling software, or applying configuration changes.
• Automate, monitor enhancements, manage capacity and resiliency, ensure business continuity, provide front office specific support, and manage stakeholders.
• Identify and remediate or raise potential service impacting risks and issues through appropriate processes.
• Proactively assess support activities, implementing automations to maintain stability and drive efficiency, and tune monitoring tools and thresholds to ensure issues are known when they occur.

Requirements

• Strong expertise with on-premise systems (Linux/Unix or Windows).
• Proficiency in scripting with Python, Shell/Bash.
• Good knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or Oracle.
• Knowledge of ITIL principles, a proactive attitude, and a strong desire to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing observability and monitoring solutions, ideally including tools like Elastic, Geneous ITRS, and Grafana.
• Experience with containerization and virtualization technologies.
