Data Scientist, E-Commerce Anti-Fraud (AI)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $144,000–$240,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Conduct complex exploratory data analysis to identify emerging fraud vectors, behavioral anomalies, and platform vulnerabilities.
• Define risk metrics, build self-service dashboards, and implement real-time alerts and circuit breakers.
• Develop, deploy, and continuously monitor risk-scoring and fraud-detection machine learning models.
• Formulate and evaluate fraud-mitigation strategies and rules while minimizing false positives.
• Use graph analytics, clustering, and entity resolution to detect coordinated fraud rings and collusive attacks.
• Design A/B experiments and use AI tools and LLMs to improve risk workflows and detection capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data analytics, engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in anti-fraud, risk management, trust and safety, data analytics, or data science within e-commerce or the technology industry.
• Experience partnering on data pipeline infrastructure and following cross-border data privacy and compliance standards.
• Ability to work fully in person in San Jose, with on-site presence required up to 5 days per week.

• Strong communication skills and experience working with global teams.
