TL;DR
Trade Compliance Specialist (Classification) (International Trade): Maintaining accurate ECCN and HS Code classifications for Avnet’s supply chain with an accent on ITAR, EAR, and US, EU, and Asia dual-use control lists. Focus on reviewing blocked SAP-GTS transactions, monitoring regulatory changes, analyzing classification data, and training the Supplier Product Management team.

hirify.global operates a global supply chain requiring compliance with international trade control and customs regulations.

What you will do

  • Obtain and verify supplier Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs) and Harmonized System (HS) Codes for new hirify.global part numbers.
  • Align supplier classifications with US, EU, and Asia dual-use control lists.
  • Maintain and periodically update verified classification data in SAP Global Trade Services (GTS).
  • Review and release daily blocked transactions in SAP-GTS and support trade classification and licensing enquiries.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, analyze classification data, and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop compliance procedures and train the Supplier Product Management team on trade classification requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Preferably two years of experience in import/export customs and trade compliance operations; fresh graduates are also welcome with on-the-job training.
  • Foundational knowledge of relevant trade compliance disciplines, industry practices, and standards.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, independence, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with management and department colleagues.

Nice to have

  • SAP experience.
  • Ability to read Chinese.
