Jr Engineer, Web Apps (React)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, with a minimum of two days onsite each week at the downtown office and remote work from home for the rest of the week.

Base pay: $120,000–$175,000 per year, with additional bonuses and profit sharing.

What you will do

• Develop and evolve the hirify.global web app for collaborative, real-time authoring, content capture, and importing.
• Ship stable, readable, and well-tested code for efficient and engaging user experiences.
• Communicate clearly through problem statements, questions, status updates, and pull request descriptions.
• Take ownership of work through ambiguity, review feedback, edge cases, and completion.
• Investigate unfamiliar areas, solve difficult problems, and balance product and technical needs.
• Collaborate openly across disciplines and continuously improve through feedback from mentors and peers.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally.
• Good judgment, ownership of outcomes, collaborative working style, and ability to give and receive feedback.
• Evidence of having shipped something real, professionally or independently.
• Comfort reading and reasoning about React, TypeScript, and modern web code.
• Solid understanding of browser behavior, networks, asynchronous behavior, and application state.
• Daily fluency with AI coding tools and demonstrated curiosity through something built, written, or independently figured out.

Nice to have

• Experience with Redux or similar global state management.
• Experience with canvas, WebGL, Three.js, PixiJS, or other rendering engines.
• Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with LLM APIs, agents, or AI-assisted developer workflows.
• Experience writing, teaching, or learning in public through a blog or repository.
