Senior Medical / Biomedical Scientist – Haematology (Haematology)

Location: On site in Sandyford, Dublin 18, Ireland; this is not a hybrid role. Full-time, 35 hours per week, with flexibility around the shift roster required.

What you will do

• Maintain high standards in medical testing and provide effective support to clients and colleagues.
• Organise and prioritise workload to ensure the effective operation of the Haematology Department.
• Maximise available resources and identify future staffing and service requirements.
• Lead and coordinate scientific and support staff, allocating work according to ability, training, education, and patient needs.
• Supervise and support basic-grade scientists, students, and auxiliary laboratory personnel.
• Deputise for the Chief Scientist in Haematology on technical matters and contribute to continuous improvement and CPD programmes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Science.
• With a Bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience as a Basic Grade Medical Scientist or Biomedical Scientist in Haematology.
• With a Master’s degree: at least two years of experience as a Senior Medical Scientist or Senior Biomedical Scientist in Haematology.
• Mandatory: CORU registration as a Senior Medical Scientist or HCPC registration as a Senior Biomedical Scientist.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, communication, and independent working skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit professional team.
