Compensation: $250–$400/hour, depending on scope and engagement depth.

What you will do
- Define and communicate AI strategies aligned with organizational goals, including use-case prioritization, build-versus-buy decisions, and pilot sequencing.
- Lead AI governance, risk, ethics, regulatory, and data privacy frameworks.
- Partner with product, engineering, and finance leadership to scope initiatives, allocate resources, and establish timelines and success metrics.
- Build or strengthen internal AI capabilities through guidance on hiring, team structures, and AI talent models.
- Evaluate external vendors, consultants, and research partners to address capability gaps and accelerate delivery.
- Present AI opportunities and progress to boards and C-suite leaders while monitoring competitive and regulatory developments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or data science, including at least 5 years in leadership or strategic advisory roles.
- Proven experience shipping AI/ML products or building machine learning teams in production environments.
- Hands-on fluency with model development, evaluation, and deployment challenges.
- Experience translating AI opportunities into business strategy and aligning product, engineering, finance, and legal stakeholders.
- Comfort with governance, compliance, and ethical AI frameworks, plus strong communication with technical and non-technical executives.
- Experience presenting to boards or investors and advising or working within Canadian or North American organizations.

- Familiarity with sector-specific AI adoption patterns and regulatory environments.
