Location: Brisbane South (Nathan), Queensland, Australia; campus-based full-time study. Work may also be required across other locations.
Scholarship stipend: $34,752 AUD annually, indexed, for up to three years.

What you will do
- Develop and validate novel salivary biomarkers for the early detection of liver fibrosis.
- Conduct non-invasive, saliva-based diagnostic research.
- Combine laboratory research in proteomics and biomarker development with clinical collaboration.
- Work with hospital partners, hospital laboratories, clinicians, and interdisciplinary research teams.
- Contribute to translational medicine research supporting patient stratification and precision health.
Requirements
- Academic background in Medical Laboratory Science, Pathology, Molecular Pathology, or a closely related field.
- Completed or expected bachelor’s degree with first-class honours equivalent, or a Master’s degree at AQF Level 9 with a significant research component.
- Research experience working with hospital laboratories and clinicians.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and laboratory-based research teams.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence.
- International applicants must meet the program’s English proficiency requirements, including IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, or an accepted equivalent TOEFL score.
Nice to have
- Experience with multivariate statistical analysis.
- Interest or experience in biomarker discovery.
