Biodiversity Manager (Renewable Energy)

What you will do

• Lead implementation of the Biodiversity Management Plan in line with applicable standards.
• Prepare, implement, monitor, and report on Biodiversity Action Plans for plant species associated with critical habitat criteria.
• Prepare and manage bird offset plans when target-species fatalities occur.
• Manage biodiversity surveys conducted by external consultants, including bird and bat population monitoring.
• Prepare terms of reference, lead technical tender activities, and monitor survey execution.
• Analyze survey results, update biodiversity plans where required, and provide ornithological advice on the Identiflight Shutdown on Demand system.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, or an equivalent field.
• Master’s degree in Biology, Ecology, or a relevant discipline such as terrestrial ecology or ornithology.
• 8–10 years of experience in biodiversity management within consultancy or project environments.
• At least 3 years of experience managing the impacts of wind power projects on birds.
• At least 3 years of experience managing biodiversity in accordance with IFC, EBRD, and ADB requirements.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy impacts on biodiversity.

Nice to have

• Experience with Biodiversity Management Plans, Biodiversity Action Plans, offsets, Shutdown on Demand, and PCFM.
• Membership in a recognized national or international professional organization.
