TL;DR
PTC Solutions Developer (Windchill/Java): Designing and developing customizations, integrations, workflows, reports, and migration solutions for the Windchill PLM platform with an accent on Windchill Java API development, data models, and upgrade-safe customization patterns. Focus on optimizing custom code and database queries, troubleshooting production issues, documenting architecture and operations, and mentoring engineers through design and code reviews.
Location: 100% Remote within the United States
Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do
- Design and develop Windchill customizations using the Windchill Java API and PTC-recommended patterns.
- Build listeners, services, processors, Info*Engine tasks, adapters, JSP/HTML extensions, and business reports.
- Configure workflows, lifecycle templates, object initialization rules, Customizer tools, RBINFO files, and OIRs.
- Develop migration scripts for legacy PLM data and optimize custom code and database queries with DBA collaboration.
- Translate manufacturing and product-lifecycle requirements into technical designs through fit-gap analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
- Provide post-go-live support, root-cause analysis, technical documentation, code and design reviews, and mentorship for junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least five years of PTC Windchill development experience and strong hands-on Windchill Java API expertise.
- Experience with Windchill workflows, lifecycle templates, object initialization rules, upgrades, and migrations.
- Working knowledge of Info*Engine, Windchill integration patterns, JSP/HTML customization, and the Windchill data model.
- Strong SQL, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or H-1B transfer candidates; new H-1B petitions cannot be sponsored.
Nice to have
- PTC Windchill certification.
- Experience with Creo, Arbortext, Windchill RV&S, ThingWorx, CAD data management workflows, or cloud-based Windchill operations.
