Senior Insider Threat Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Flex Work requires spending at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field.

Annual base salary: $152,000–$228,000 USD for the primary Atlanta location. Additional U.S. locations may have ranges of $144,400–$258,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design, build, tune, and operationalize insider threat detection logic, use cases, and analytics.
• Lead triage and investigations of insider threat alerts and convert findings into detection improvements.
• Develop scalable detection strategies for data exfiltration, employee exit risk, misuse, and other insider threat scenarios.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting using behavioral, endpoint, and data activity signals.
• Partner with Data Protection, Legal, HR, and Cyber teams to align detections with business context and investigation needs.
• Measure detection effectiveness, improve alert fidelity, and present findings to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in insider threat, security operations, threat hunting, intelligence analysis, corporate investigations, or counterintelligence.
• Experience conducting threat hunting in a corporate or government environment.
• Hands-on experience with Proofpoint, DTEX, Exabeam, Netskope, or similar UEBA and DLP tools.
• Experience analyzing DLP, UEBA, UAM, and SIEM telemetry to investigate insider risk activity.
• Knowledge of insider threat detection methodologies, behavioral analytics, data classification, data movement, and exfiltration techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information security, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience mapping detections to MITRE ATT&CK and insider threat TTP knowledge bases.
• Experience with SOAR, APIs, pipelines, or scripted security workflows.
• Experience applying AI-assisted analytics for alert enrichment, correlation, deduplication, prioritization, and reporting.
• Experience developing training, playbooks, and tabletop exercises.
• Relevant certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, ITPM, or Security+.
