Global Head of Production & Engineering (Process Manufacturing): Building a world-class international manufacturing organisation across production facilities, engineering projects, automation initiatives, and maintenance programmes with an accent on operational excellence, process technology, safety, quality, and scalability. Focus on balancing a multi-site production network, delivering major capital projects from business case through ramp-up, and developing reliable production systems for compounding, flavour delivery, isolation, and concentration.
Location: Reinbek, Germany; hybrid working model with four weeks of remote work from other EU countries.

What you will do
- Set the global manufacturing strategy, balance products and capacity across sites, and support make-or-buy and footprint decisions.
- Run end-to-end S&OP with the Head of Supply Chain and own the global manufacturing budget, conversion cost, and productivity improvements.
- Lead the 100-person Production and Engineering organisation, develop technical talent, and support automation and digitalisation across shopfloor teams.
- Define the manufacturing investment agenda and own major capacity, automation, and process-line projects from requirements and business case through ramp-up.
- Set technology, maintenance, reliability, asset lifecycle, and scale-up strategies across the production network.
- Lead site production leaders while maintaining safety, audit readiness, operational excellence, and manufacturing sustainability targets.
Requirements
- Degree in Process, Chemical, or Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in flavour, fragrance, food ingredients, or fine chemicals, ideally with multi-site or international responsibility.
- Experience owning major capital projects, including capacity expansion, automation, or new process lines, from business case through ramp-up.
- Strong process technology expertise, including the ability to challenge engineering concepts and read P&IDs.
- Experience with lean and operational excellence, GMP, and food-safety-regulated manufacturing, including FSSC 22000, IFS, HACCP, and allergen management.
- Fluent English required; German is a strong asset. International travel is approximately 10%.
