Data Science Manager (AI/ML)

What you will do

• Support the Digital Materiel Management modernization initiative for Air Force procurement and contracting operations.
• Connect data across DoD and Air Force enterprise systems and develop analytics, dashboards, visualizations, and decision-support tools.
• Gather business requirements, define data sources and transformations, design data models, and develop metadata for analysis and visualization.
• Conduct exploratory, trend, and data-quality analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and actionable insights.
• Create and maintain Python scripts and support data pipelines, integration, automation, governance, lineage, and standardization.
• Develop training materials and deliver group and individual training for end users.

Requirements

• Active or current Secret security clearance, or higher, is required.
• BA/BS degree with at least three years of relevant experience and required certifications, or six years of directly related experience.
• Knowledge of enterprise software development, the acquisition lifecycle, government program management, and document preparation.
• Experience or knowledge with federal and DoD acquisition systems, analytics platforms, data tools, SQL, Python, data modeling, dashboards, visualization, transformation, and business intelligence reporting.
• Extensive knowledge of FAR, DFARS, DAFFARS, and DoD and Air Force acquisition instructions.
• Experience with tools and systems such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Power Apps, Power Automate, UiPath, Advana, FPDS-NG, PIEE, EDA, WAWF, and ERP systems.

Nice to have

• Experience applying AI/ML, Generative AI, predictive analytics, or automation in DoD, Air Force, or federal environments.
• Experience with data cleansing, validation, governance, metadata, data lineage, and enterprise data integration.
• Ability to present complex insights through clear dashboards, visualizations, narratives, and recommendations.
