Principal Scientist, Formulation Development (DPDT) (Biopharma)

Location: On-site in Tarrytown, New York, United States. Full-time standard business hours, with flexibility to support occasional executive meetings, town halls, and corporate events outside regular hours.

Salary: $128,600–$210,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead drug product development activities from candidate selection and preclinical development through clinical development and commercialization.
• Design and execute formulation, analytical, and process development experiments for proteins, siRNA, peptides, bioconjugates, AAV, and liquid or lyophilized drug products.
• Apply quality by design approaches, statistical methods, and JMP or equivalent software to support study design and data analysis.
• Plan and lead complex, long-term projects, make risk-based technical decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Research and implement new approaches, technologies, instrumentation, and analytical techniques for product development and process optimization.
• Act as a subject matter expert, mentor junior scientists, develop direct reports, prepare technical documents and presentations, and contribute to publications and patents.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biophysics, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field, plus 4+ years of relevant biopharma industry experience.
• Alternatively, a BS or MS degree with at least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience designing rigorous experiments and applying biochemical, biophysical, and/or microbiology principles to drug product development.
• Experience with statistical software such as JMP or an equivalent package.
• Experience leading complex projects, communicating technical data, maintaining laboratory records, and following data integrity, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Ability to work onsite in Tarrytown, New York, United States.

Nice to have

• Industry experience with bioconjugates, particularly antibody-oligonucleotide formulation development.
