Collections Officer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Manage a dedicated loan portfolio from settlement through account closure, maintaining relationships with customers and brokers.
• Monitor maturities, rate resets, review dates, and other loan lifecycle milestones to resolve issues proactively.
• Assess extension, variation, restructure, and hardship requests in line with internal policies and statutory obligations.
• Handle delinquent accounts end-to-end, including customer contact, repayment negotiations, and resolution tracking.
• Provide clear, empathetic support during challenging conversations and identify potential complaints for early resolution or escalation.
• Prepare accurate arrears reporting and flag emerging risk trends and systemic issues to executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience in collections, loan servicing, hardship, or customer care, ideally in banking, lending, or fintech.
• Empathetic communication skills combined with the ability to negotiate firm, realistic outcomes.
• Customer-first mindset and strong follow-through.
• Knowledge of the National Credit Code, responsible lending, and hardship obligations, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving fintech environment where processes and frameworks are still developing.
