Staff Software Engineer

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the local office

What you will do

• Own technical design and execution for major products, systems, and engineering initiatives.
• Design scalable and reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Write code, build prototypes, conduct code reviews, debug systems, and solve production issues.
• Drive architecture decisions and trade-offs involving speed, scalability, reliability, cost, and maintainability.
• Translate ambiguous product problems into technical solutions and execution plans.
• Raise engineering quality through system design, testing, security, observability, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
• Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills for complex or high-scale systems.
• Strong coding ability and willingness to remain hands-on.
• Experience technically leading major engineering projects from design through production and operating across multiple products, markets, or countries.
• Strong English communication is required; English is the main working language across global teams.
