Junior Electrical Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Bristol, United Kingdom; on site 3 days per week. BPSS clearance is required.

Salary: GBP 40,000–50,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage and supervise instrumentation and control cabling and electrical design for the Hinkley Point C nuclear project.
• Review and consolidate design inputs from I&C engineers, suppliers, and system engineers.
• Perform consistency checks, identify discrepancies, and manage related design changes.
• Produce and maintain I/O lists and interface documentation for turnkey contracts.
• Design and validate cable routing, sizing, and loop connections against nuclear and electrical safety standards.
• Coordinate supplier feedback and support installation teams with on-site implementation of electrical and cabling designs.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in I&C cabling and electrical design in industrial or nuclear environments.
• Knowledge of loop diagrams, I/O lists, and control systems integration.
• Experience with cable routing, sizing, and installation design.
• Ability to review supplier studies, identify inconsistencies, and resolve design issues.
• Familiarity with nuclear safety standards and regulated environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Nice to have

• Experience working on nuclear projects and turnkey contracts.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD and cable management software.
• Experience with installation planning and electrical interface verification.
