Manager, Supplier Quality Engineering (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Deerfield, Wisconsin; applicants are expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance

Annual salary: $120,000–$145,000, plus eligibility for an annual bonus

What you will do

• Lead and mentor assigned Supplier Quality Engineers, including performance management, training, and career development.
• Manage supplier performance through quality metrics, supplier communication, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Investigate incoming inspection, end-of-life, brokered-part, and supplier-defect issues through root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Support new product introduction, cost reduction, part resourcing, and new vendor identification and qualification.
• Execute Supplier Quality Engineering strategies and maintain processes and records compliant with company and FDA requirements.
• Report supplier quality, receiving quality, and function activity status to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical discipline, or 10+ years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience with supervisory experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, including demonstrated supplier quality improvement and strong auditing experience.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience in technical management.
• Working knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly, injection molding, and machining processes.
• Experience with product structures, BOMs, MRP systems, global supplier sourcing, and validation in medical, automotive, or military environments.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/13485, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and FDA QSR documentation requirements.

Nice to have

• MBA.
• CMQ/OE, CQA ASQ, or CQE ASQ certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Smartsheet.
