Part-time Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Remote from Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, or Mexico

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using Python and frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Deploy, operate, and monitor production services on AWS.
• Design and work with relational databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
• Work directly with consulting clients to clarify technical requirements, use cases, and implementation needs.
• Translate client needs into technical designs and production-ready solutions.
• Write tested, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical design decisions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent hands-on project experience.
• Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Proficiency in Python and backend frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Experience deploying and running production services on AWS, with working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Comfort with Git workflows, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Strong English communication skills and availability to work remotely from one of the specified Latin American countries.

• Consulting or client-facing engineering experience.
• Experience translating ambiguous requirements into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code or CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with distributed or data-heavy systems.
