Senior Computer Vision Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize real-time onboard perception algorithms for detecting, associating, and estimating the state of dynamic objects from moving aerial platforms.
• Train and evaluate neural networks for detection and classification, including dataset curation, labeling strategies, retraining loops, and measurable evaluation methods.
• Optimize models and perception pipelines for embedded inference within defined latency, throughput, and compute budgets.
• Develop camera calibration and sensor synchronization procedures for multi-camera and multi-sensor configurations.
• Combine visual measurements with inertial and platform-state data using filtering and estimation techniques for robust performance under egomotion.
• Run field-test campaigns, take algorithms from bench to flight, analyze real-world logs and video, and collaborate with pilots, integrators, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying computer vision systems on resource-constrained platforms, ideally in robotics or aerial systems.
• Strong knowledge of classical computer vision, including feature detection and matching, optical flow, camera models and calibration, and multiple-view geometry.
• Practical experience training and deploying convolutional neural networks for detection or classification.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, and OpenCV, with experience taking computer vision work from problem definition to real deployment.
• Comfort with field testing, cross-team leadership, ambiguity, and collaboration with engineering, product, pilots, integrators, and external stakeholders.

Nice to have

• State estimation, sensor fusion, Kalman or extended Kalman filters, IMU integration, visual-inertial odometry, or visual SLAM.
• Experience with ROS2, embedded inference runtimes, quantization, pruning, or GPU/NPU-accelerated pipelines on embedded SoCs.
• Experience building CI or hardware-in-the-loop infrastructure for perception regression testing.
• Background with aerial platforms, PX4, or MAVLink-based systems.
