Health, Safety and Compliance Advisor (Bio Safety)

What you will do

• Provide advice, support and oversight for day-to-day health, safety and compliance management across the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
• Deliver health and safety assurance to Department and Institute management teams.
• Support compliance with relevant legislation and University policies, advising staff and students on safety matters.
• Manage health and safety initiatives and operational issues through to completion while promoting best practice.
• Own biological safety information, including risk assessments, training, inductions, inspections and records.
• Share expertise and provide cross-Faculty cover during peak workloads and staff absences.

Requirements

• Degree-level education.
• Relevant health and safety qualification.
• Previous experience in a health, safety and compliance role.
• Ability to manage a busy and diverse workload.
• Experience in a higher education or research-focused environment is preferred.
